In the last writing, I was only dreaming of a sister project starting in some other country. Today we can announce that this dream has come true! A group in Denmark has outlined a strategy of partnership in the eCars - Now! community. Their plan, first to seek sponsorship money and only then to start the project with full speed seems very wise to me. We have done it the other way around, but perhaps this was the only possibility when starting the really new thing. We will work closely with the Danish colleagues to help them in every way we can within our resources. That is, IF they need our help.
The fact that the first group outside Finland appeared from Denmark is interesting. It is Denmark, after all where the Project Better Place's cars will be riding as the first country after that project's native Israel. One could think that since the Danish have the PBP coming in the near future, a carage conversion would not be as interesting option. But just the opposite seems to be true! The very fact that electric cars are coming to Denmark can make people there anxious to wait. So hungry that they want their eCars - Now! ;-)
Here in Finland, the eCorolla project has taken a "commercial turn", which gives us a lot to think about. A company named Finnish Electric Vehicle Technologies (FEVT) will produce Toyota Corolla conversion for the Norwegian Enviro Elbilsag. We hope an open collaboration with the company.
